Mykola Tarasenko
An illustrator, graphic designer and maker of social posters. Co-author of the visual identity for cultural events across the Tri-City. He is fascinated by the architecture of Gdańsk and the history of typography.
About the Work & Technique
Mykola has been designing posters for fourteen years, the last four of them in Gdańsk. He works on visual identities for intercultural exhibitions and festivals across the Tricity.
What interests him most is typography in the street — signs, plaques, lettering over gateways. He argues that Gdańsk lettering can be read in layers, like a geological section: German, post-war Polish, nineties and present-day, often on a single wall.
He runs occasional poster workshops at Mozaika where no computer is used. Only scissors, paper and paint.
